Harnessing digital talent is the number-one goal for Unity Online in 2020
2020 promises to be another landmark year for Unity Online. Following a successful office move to its new headquarters at Needham Market train station, the agency is now focused squarely on training and enhancing its in-house digital talent.
As the company remains one of Suffolk’s fastest-growing digital agencies, retaining and empowering the best and most promising digital specialists to Unity Online is more important than ever before.
That’s why Unity’s primary objective for 2020 and beyond is to lay the foundations of a solid program for career progression, giving ambitious, knowledge-thirsty employees a chance to grow as people and professionals.
By creating and validating a transparent competency framework for each individual role within the agency, the company’s digital experts now have a clear roadmap of what’s expected of them from day one and what they need to achieve to progress and reach new levels of seniority.
Thanks to the fast-moving digital marketing industry, these frameworks will be closely monitored and adapted where necessary to ensure Unity’s vast array of in-house specialisms adhere to best practice.
It’s hoped that the agency’s competency framework will not only pinpoint knowledge gaps and areas for development but celebrate areas of significant improvement in individuals, placing career progression at the front and centre of Unity’s next stage of its growth curve.
Staff training plans, based around the agency’s competency framework, are also designed to be client-centric. As Unity forges ahead with fostering its client experience led approach across all departments, training will not only upskill individuals, it will ensure the agency’s valued clients can lean on expertise and support at the cutting edge of digital marketing.
As part of this new approach, the agency is scheduling a new in-house training program, designed to give Unity staff access to industry leading experts, with workshops and seminars from the likes of Google in the offing.
Georgina Day, head of client experience, Unity Online, said: “The agency is growing at an incredible rate of knots. With plans to expand the workforce to a team of 35 by the end of this year, it’s important that we implement competency frameworks for all digital specialisms that provide a clear roadmap for individuals.
“We are passionate about nurturing and harnessing digital talent and ensuring our clients receive the best possible advice and support for them to thrive online.
“These plans aren’t designed to highlight individuals’ weaknesses. They will exist to help staff fulfil their potential at Unity Online.”
The agency has also invested heavily in its new offices at Needham Market train station to create a state-of-the-art working environment that promotes innovation and inspires staff to invest in their personal development.
