The last few weeks have been exceptionally active at Unity Online HQ. We’ve been delighted to bring on board another ten new clients, many of which are based locally, as well as two London-based businesses as we broaden our reach.

To cope with the increased demand for our full complement of digital marketing services, we have hired an additional salesman, bringing our Business Development team up to three. Andrew Johnson has been helping local businesses solve their marketing challenges since 2011 and we are delighted to welcome him to the Unity team.

We place great emphasis on looking after our talented staff, investing in their learning to allow them to gain in knowledge and confidence in all aspects of our business.

Subsequently, it was great to see our longest-serving employee nominated as July’s Team Member of the Month. Ashley Pattenden was the company’s first full-time employee back in 2015 and joined as an Apprentice Salesman, with a remit of generating leads with local companies and to assist with the day-to-day operations of the company.

Since the evolvement of our Business Development team, Ashley took the decision to retrain in another aspect of the business with a long-term plan to become Unity Online’s in-house accountant.

Ashley joined college part-time to undertake his AAT course and has received distinctions for every module in his first full year. He has now taken control of Unity’s accounting operations, drastically reducing the need to outsource, and has really grown as an individual since first joining the company. Here’s what one of Ashley’s colleagues had to say:

“My vote goes to Ashley Pattenden. He has actively sought to improve the company’s accounting processes and has organised the accounts for each client. Ashley is a core part of the Unity team and his work keeps us up-to-date with client finances during projects.

“Ashley is always ready to lend a hand with any company-wide tasks, from office moves and IT installations to content population. He is especially helpful when authorising payments for development plugins or necessary memberships to ensure smooth everyday operations for Unity’s development team.”

Massive congratulations to Ashley for his continued hard work and commitment. He will receive a £100 Amazon gift voucher and an extra day of annual leave to take in August – just one of the many perks of being part of the Unity Online team!

The team must also be congratulated for another stellar launch of a bespoke website for Bedford-based private school, Pilgrims, part of the Harpur Trust.

The design and functionality has been well-received by the client and will future proof the school’s online exposure for years to come.
